Cocktail Hour

Cocktail Hour is the seventh pattern released for my Time on my Hands e-book. These are a lacy, double layered cuffs designed to keep your wrists warm in when wearing a little black dress. The simple ribbing allows the two colors of lace to be the standout feature of these cuffs. You can favorite and queue them on Ravelry.

The pattern is written in two sizes: 7.25 (9.25)”/18.5 (23.5) cm wrist circumference. Since the ribbing is stretchy either size could fit a wide range of wrists. The lace is all charted, so you will need to know how to read charts. The cuffs are worked in Ball and Skein Glissade yarn. Judy’s a local yarn dyer and her work is gorgeous. You’ll need 186 or 328 yards of the MC and 134 or 263 yards of the CC depending on the size. For the smaller size a pair of cuffs could be made from a single skein of yarn if you want just one color.

Cuffs are knit starting with the simple ribbing. After eyelets, a lace repeat is worked with the increases build into the chart for the flounce. Once the first layer is completed, stitches are picked up around the inside of the cuff to knit the second flounce in a coordinating color.
